I’m Melissa R, but I go by Isla Noir when I’m performing/writing
music.
I’m an actress and musician/singer.
I was born in Melbourne, Australia and have lived in 11 different countries.
I currently live in Vancouver, Canada, but call my two other “homes” Melbourne and Singapore.
I was born a singer-songwriter to two very musical parents. I grew up performing at events and bars and am currently working on my second EP.

I’ve been playing piano since I was 6, guitar since I started modeling and realized I couldn’t travel with a piano, and drums since I started trading singing lessons in return for drum lessons with a friend.
My hobbies include scuba diving, free diving, landscape photography, fiction writing and looking at cute animal videos online.
I started my label Neu.Mer as a way to make recycling effortless. My bags inner linings are made of recycled PET which means we use plastic bottles that might ordinarily end up in a landfill, and turn it into something beautiful. The photographs are then printed onto vegan leather and hand sewed together in Vancouver, Canada.

He was born in Singapore to a French father and Singaporean mother, and grew up all around the world, eventually settling in Canada.
He speaks three languages fluently, and countless others conversationally.
He is an actor and photographer.
As a photographer, he’s been published in magazines and online. All the photos here have been taken by him.
